It's been a week of reflection on what's transpired the past 8 months
I didn't plan for this
it caught me by surprise when my daughters brought home their school schedule for the next 7 weeks....
that's when it hit me
the realization that another Little Chapter in my children's big book of life
will be written in a mere 7 weeks....
they are winding up
dotting all the i's crossing all their t's on another school year...
I had a slide show or I should say a flip book flash before my eyes...
I swear it was the first day of school just weeks ago....
I thought...
I have whiplash
it has gone/going by so fast
&
after seeing their schedule for the month of May it's only going to get faster...
it's jammed packed
May's calendar is full I tell you
F U L L
Confirmation
Cinco de Mayo {you can't pass up an opportunity to have a Margarita}
piano recitals
band concert
talent show
my son's birthday
8TH grade class trip
morning coffee break with friends {a must}
toss in the unexpected events that love to catch us by surprise
etc...
It sent me into reflection mode of all that will need to be done...
making lists to help keep me and everyone organized
outfit planning for the whole family
thank you gifts that will need to be bought
thank you letter's that will need to be written....
&
finally
the multiple parties that need to be planned
because every "Little Chapter" needs a party!!!
Here's to a day, a week, a month of capturing time
bottling it up
hugging it tight
&
celebrating
all the little chapters!!!

Hi - I so agree - what is it with May? It's party season in my household, two birthdays, masses of school things...and, and, and! Before I know it they will be breaking up for summer! LB x
It does go by so fast...I still think my boys should be little because before I knew it, years went by. Enjoy everything you're doing now - I'd love to go back in time and bottle up more of my children. It's interesting how the chapters change with the years but it's so rewarding being a mother!
Have a wonderful day ~
Sarah
so true, it sure does fly by....our children's Spring concert was last night, sometimes as i watch them i try to remember every detail so i can keep it with me.....xo susan
flies by. we're saying the same thing! End of the year wrap up parties are a much needed thing in our lives!
I love how you love to celebrate!!! I think it helps when time flies to find every way we can to celebrate!! Here's to a fun and jam packed May!
time does fly by and I don't even have a little one in school!! enjoy the time you have with them and all the little chapters!! be in the moment as they say! xoxoxo
Here here!! ;)
You're right it has flown by!!!!! I have to admit I'm ready for summer. I hate schedules and so many activities. I want flip flops and lazy days:)
Now I have to plan the summer at the pool and popsicles and play dates, my calendar is getting filled for June and July already.
You are a good mamma I tell you!
I say not just a chapter needs a celebration/party
but each moment does as you hug time tight
and all the smiles you hold dear.
Happy day to you Lulu
you are so sweet... I bet all your kids' friends think you are the best, coolest mom!!
Have a great weekend!
Michelle
It does fly by all too fast. I've always felt that the month of May is the busiest month of the year for a mother and teacher {I'm double wammied}due to all the activities.
I can't wait to see what you have in store to mark these occassions.
Jo
I LOVE THIS POST!!!!! love it, love it, love it.
yes, where has this year gone. first year of kindergarten for us and WHAT, its almost over. really!
i'd like to start over again. enjoy it some more :O)
here's to the chapters, cheers.
You are so good at partying...in a great way! lol :) I too can't believe how fast this year has gone and soon my last will be in kindergarten this fall and my oldest a sophomore...where did the years go?! You are so very thoughtful and I love that about you!
Hugs,
Victoria
I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU!
Lulu, my kids came home with same exact calendar!!!!!
6 1/2 weeks left for us.
Luke turns FOUR next week.
He is off to pre school.
We have less than 7 weeks at our current school...FOREVER.
2 months and we MOVE 3,000 miles away.
11 years of new chapters and constant changing.
This is hard.
Too fast.
Life is moving wayyyy to quickly.
I don't like it one bit.
But I like your party idea...the idea of celebrating the NEW yet to come, rather than the sadness of what is nearly over.
We should be grateful that we GET new chapters.
Each chapter..each moth..each day is a gift.
You always remind me of that.
xo
And it really goes by that fast! Enjoy those little ones while they are still around.
You know it seems a bit cliche to say, but it's so true...the older I get, the faster time flies. I literally wake up Monday morning and by bed time it's Friday. Where do the weeks go? So I'm right there with ya!!
PS...still waiting for that fashion post. ;-)
I love that you celebrate every little chapter. Your kids will never, ever forget that LuLu!! Ooooh, maybe you can throw one giant whopper of a May party! You can call it the~ CincodeMayoPianoRecitalConfirmationBandConcertBirthdayEtcEtcExtravaganza!!!!!
LuLu, you are singing MY song!!! It is a celebration for them, but very bittersweet for US. I took a turn in the road as I was wandering the bloggerhood this evening and am so glad that I came upon your lovely blog! I am going to find my way back here, again soon! xx P&H
It's crazy how fast the time is flying... and how we are nearly done with the school year! So fun though.
ok...I am tired now! You do have a lot on your plate my dear...May is our birthday month..we all seem to be celebrating our birthdays...why do we have a family of May birthdays...and my oldest daughter just married and he has a May birthday too...let the fun begin! {oh and 2 anniversaries too} xxoxoo Sorry just had to get that out of my system. xoxox

I'm not that old, but had my four kids when I was fairly young, but I remember May very well! Just like you described the list was endless, some days you wondered if you'd not pull out your hair!! It was a busy time but looking back it was fun! I miss the crazy month of May! here's to you and all your celebrations! Lori
Truly May is the busiest month of the year for mom...smiles.
! I have to admit I'm ready for summer.
