puzzle pieces....

What I love about finds is that it's like finding a piece of a puzzle.
Sometimes you just find something that calls to you... makes you stop in your tracks, touch it, or some cases stare at it on the computer screen wishing you could reach your hand right through the monitor to touch and know it's perfect for your space....

For me, sometimes it happens when I least expect it! Just a random stop on the way home from the commissary, or spending some down time on the computer after a long day.... you just never know....

My latest finds I see first thing in the morning....
I open my eyes and over the little heads of kiddos that have rushed into my room to tell me it's time to get up.... and a dog who can't miss out on all the commotion and needs a morning hug and belly rub from everyone I now have my favorite saying looking at me....

Sing Out Loud

When I saw this set of flashcards on my sweet savannah etsy shop there was not a doubt in my mind that I had to have them!

I tucked them away while I patiently waited for my next find....
the vintage brass photograph holder. I came across while I was taking a moment between homework and dinner time and the computer called my name to take 5 minutes.... does this happen to anyone else? The pull of the computer... or is it just me? I found this sweet find on storybook charm etsy shop !

and when it arrived from my favorite UPS man i rushed upstairs to my room opened the box, took out the flashcards that were waiting so patiently for there holder!

Awww, another piece of the puzzle complete!

It makes me laugh when my kids see one of my finds for the first time.... I get such a kick out of their reactions... cause I'm never quite sure what will come out of their mouth...

in this case, after all the hugs and kisses, my 6 year old saw it first and said, "hey, that's what you say ALL THE TIME!!!!

{insert huge grin and a elbow in the side to my hubby here}

My master bedroom is still a work in progress.... it can't be rushed... even though I would like to complete it fast... I've learned not to... take my time, find the pieces and I'm so glad I am.

My last find was a spontaneous stop after the commissary with a car full of groceries....
I was sitting at the stop light and thought about the antique/consignment store that is only open on Saturday and Sunday... I quickly processed that it was Saturday and I didn't have any of the kiddos with me...

yep, I turned left instead of right....
and the next thing I know, I'm calling hubby on the cell phone.... I couldn't wait to tell him what I found down he bread aisle!!!!

and that it was too big to get into the car with all the groceries I was coming home with.... I made sure to mention that they were all his favorite foods.... that I would actually cook!!! Really, you are going to get a complete well balanced meal... after i go back to pick it up!!!

look at the feet.... wheels... old wood!!! Completely my ecelectic, ubran, rustic, cottage style!!! {don't laugh how long my style name is! Hubby already did! I told him I just may add to it! so watch out!}

It was only fitting to have my favorite saying sitting on top!

and in case you were wondering I was doing the happy dance too!!!

Now, what to place on the racks.... ideas?? I would love to know what you would put on it??

Happy Wednesday! Wishing you a day full of happiness and hoping you find all the pieces to your puzzle!!!

That is so cute, and the little cards are perfect!! As for what to put on the rack? My mind is blank... so that being said, I need to go educate the young minds of my children... proves to be an interesting day, what with my blank mind and all...

I have a feeling your going to stock those shelves with various "puzzle pieces" along the way. Your gonna each one when you see it.

Ruth, I am not sure of the correct name, but i believe it's an old shoe rack. I researched it and when i put in those words with wood pictures of it came up. I, too, saw them in magazines and always loved the way they look... so when I saw it I RAN for it and knew it was a piece i was looking for!! hee hee
let me know if you need more info on it,
LuLu

LULU! are you kidding me??? I love this, really really love this...! you are so good at finding amazing treasures! What to put on it, well the bottom needs a really cute set of square suitcases, and the next row should have a couple baskets for well what ever you want, and then next row needs several pairs of old shoe forms (because we have to stay true to its original purpose) and then the top row...hmmm...I think I will stop now! :)

Love the cards!

You find the best stuff! And then, you know what to do with it, which is another problem I have. Will you come and chop with me and then tell me where to put this stuff? You did good!

Sometimes we find the Best things when we aren't even looking! It's like having money and wanting to spend it and finding nothing, just one of those things. You should see the looks I get when I bring some things home, My kids think I'm nuts most of the time.. Love the rack. Jamie

Love it all, but my favorite is definitely the rack! I can just see it full of great magazines, baskets full of vintage finds, old books, and vintage linens folded ever so neatly!

Love that you always say "sing out loud"! I sing out loud all the time! It's one of my favorite things to do!

Love it. I have passed on a few because I didn't know where to put it...I have since figured it out and now can't find any:-( I would put linens on one of the racks because I don't think beautiful linens should be in a drawer. Show us when you get it all "decorated"!
