When I began this blog of mine it didn't even occur to me how it would affect my life, my thought process!
I am the same person who started this blog, I do the same things I did before.... I live what I write... I'm eternally optimistic... but something inside of me has changed from blogging.
my heart... it grew... I had no idea this would happen.
When I walk away from the computer and go about my day I take you with me....
Something may catch my eye and it makes me think of so and so...
When I need a boost of energy and have my latte, I'm thinking of my blog friends who love coffee like I do...
When it comes to decorating I see things now and think, "oh I know who would love that"!
When I'm feeling tired I just recall the blogs I have read that instantly lift me up.... take away the tired feeling and I find myself refreshed, ready to face the world, head on with my arms out stretched and an open heart.
Because this is my one chance to LIVE and be all I can be for myself and my family and friends.
This weekend I went vintage shopping early on Saturday morning. I went to one of my favorite stopping grounds and besides being in a sea of people all searching for there perfect find....
I was standing in line with my ironware bowl...waiting to check out.
and I feel a touch on my shoulder
I turn around and the person who touched my shoulder said my name....
she introduced herself to me and told me that she reads my blog and admires me for putting my life out there for others to read.
We had the best conversation in the very crowded store, I thanked her for taking the time to read my blog and her kind words and for stopping me today and introducing herself to me...
I've thought of that encounter all weekend...
people who become friends, who find inspiration, who have a connection all from a blog...
I have a routine each morning... after I drop of my daughters at school, my son and I rush home...
He loves to watch "Sid the Science Kid" on PBS and I refill my mug of tea and read blogs...
it's my breakfast time with all of YOU!
So, when I was vintaging this weekend I found 2 items that had me thinking of my mornings and of you....
which brings me to a giveaway!
I found this charming book...
"A Proper Breakfast with it's fetching watercolors, offers stylish and imaginative breakfasts from all around the world. Each menu includes delicious recipes, some traditional, others more exotic, all beautifully displayed with attractive table settings and presentation ideas."
Hello!!! This description is all of YOU!!! beautiful, stylish, imaginative, all around the world, delicious, variety of traditions, exotic, full of ideas!!!
I had the perfect item to go with this book.... I was saving it for my sale... but I want to give it with the book... a vintage dish towel from 1966... I found this item at a flea market while I was digging through a basket of old linens it says, " Bless this house oh Lord, We pray, make it safe by night & day" with the calendar year of 1966 printed on the dish towel.
Last but not least is my favorite breakfast item Nutella! Last week when I asked you to join me for an English Muffin and Nutella so many of you commented that you have never tried it!
You must!!! it's delicious.... and to top off a proper breakfast you need a cup of tea!
If you would like breakfast with me just leave a comment on this post and I'll draw a winner on Wednesday.
Cheer's to friendships, blogging and a heart that has grown in ways I never imagined... thank you.....
{update: anyone can enter, you do not have to have a blog to win my giveaway, just leave a comment}

Good Morning Lulu!!! What a fun give away... I would love to win.
I have a really delicious recipe using Nutella for you...
Prepare a brownie mix according to the package directions (I like to use the 8 x 8 size). When the brownies have cooled, spread with Nutella and top with chopped hazelnuts. These are so delicious and you should give them a try!
Have a wonderful day!

Hello! I just had to smile when I read your entry. I feel the exact same way! I don't have a blog of my own, so seldom feel like I should leave a comment...yet I still feel such a part of "this wonderful Blog world"! I guess I feel like an outsider looking in. It is amazing how close we can feel to people we have never actually met. Thank you for always being a beautiful bright spot in my day, and for taking the time to inspire me! I look forward to Our "visits"! Thanks again!
Oh Lulu, if only you could actually include YOURSELF in that give away, because breakfast with you would be so fabulous!!!!!!!!!
OK, so you know how we lead the same exact life in a strange way??? Well, just this morning, after drop off at school, I ran to the grocery store. And as I was putting groceries in the car, with Luke in his PJ's holding a bag of BBQ chips, I noticed a woman getting out of her car...I looked...checked her out...and realized that she was a blogger of a blog I read...I nearly shouted out, "Hey, BERN THIS...it's me, PIECE OF CAKE!!!!" But I didn't.
Now, after reading your post, I wish I had!!!
have a great day, and please, should I win this give away, would you consider a hand delivery?
Oh LuLu, you never cease to make me smile. What a lovely post, and giveaway. You should know that your posts are always so fun.. I'm always happy to see an update.
Lulu! Your giveaway sounds so great! Like your sis...Vince was born in 1966 so I would love it! Ok, and Nutella...my niece loves that stuff! Her dream lunch at school is a Nutella sandwich! I need to buy a jar! Who knew what I was missing? Please email me when you can...just a note so I'll have your email address and we can catch up some more!
Love, Maria
You took the words right out of my mouth - SUCH a blessing to be connected to such fabulous ladies.
AND YOU, my friend - are one of the dearest. I just love how you are Anne's 'big sister'. Such an amazing connection.
I just love your eternal optimism, it is such an inspiration to me - the NOT eternal optimist. You are the big sister I always wanted - and I just love you to pieces.
Someday, I hope to have Nutella with you - CA, MD, WA, Paris - wherever....its a date!
xoxo
LuLu,
I have to tell you, that I feel the same way. In fact, when I posted my last post, I thought about you. It reminded me of the time that I first came across your blog when you were getting ready to sell some of your things at a local craft show. I felt so inspired by you and that you were living my dream. So, thank you for your blog and for your inspiration.
Enjoy your day!
Adrienne

That is so cool that you met a blogger out there. I met a blogger the other day. I took dinner to her house since she just had a baby and she e-mailed me her address. She had her blog address on there as well. Well, what do you know another great blogger!
Fun.
OK. I was born in 1966 so I think this would be a good prize for me. I've never eaten Nutella. So that would be a treat.
♥
Joy

Your giveaway is so generous, the nutella alone would have me excited :) But the beautiful book and everything else, well count me in and thank you for the chance!

LuLu you are just so sweet!
I would love to be entered in your giveaway. Can you believe I've never tired Nutella before?
Okay LuLu, you are slowly changing my idea of "vintage"~you make it sound so glamourous and fun. I am still in Paris...it's late, and I am waiting for my jeans to dry, so what better way to spend a few minutes, than catching up with my blog friends.
Count me in on your give-away.
You are the best!
Teri
Oh Lulu, my darling... you had me at Nutella.
You are such a part of OUR days too!
I LOVE love love LOVE this giveaway!!! And I happen to be fresh out of Nutella too.... gasp! How can this be? I blame homeschooling. Not because it has anything to do with actually being OUT of nutella, but its just a convenient thing to blame things on, and I can get away with SO dang much by saying, "Oh sorry... it's home schooling's fault." (giggle) Is that wrong?
Blessings,
LMM

How fun! My friend and I often talk about blog people as if they are personal friends. We were in Goodwill last week, blog-talking, and somebody overheard us and approached us. We were not familiar with each other's blogs, but felt a certain kinship as bloggers!
Thanks for the giveaway!

Oh I so wish it had been me tapping you on the shoulder saying hello! :) What a special moment.
It is amazing how important this little/big world of blogging is to each of us who invest in it. It's a world of friendship and support that I don't have in my real world like I do here.
I wish I could come over and sit with you this morning and have some tea with a buttered english muffin ;)

How nice to meet a reader. If I ever met you, I would ask you to go junkin' with me.
I have yet to experience Nutella, so if I win, I will have to try it on an english muffin.
Thanks,
I enjoyed meeting you too and I am glad that I can keep you pushing on and inspired. You are great at what you do and I imagine you are truely "who you are" a rarity these days. I am sitting at home watching Max and Ruby with the four kids as the husband is away on travel and looking forward to a hectic but enjoyable breakfast tomorrow. I will toast to you. Thanks again,
Annelise Wilcox
