Pantry Makeover

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Go ahead and fling open my pantry doors... I wont be embarrassed!
I'm finished and feel quite satisfied.

It took two days, but boy was it worth it. Making breakfast

(super fast for the kiddos to get out the door and their lunches was a breeze)

I still want to tweak it here and there, when I come across the perfect basket or container, but for the time being this "project" is completed... check that right off my January to-do list!
Little tidbit: While I was making my "labels" I was laughing while I was working thinking to myself, "really LuLu people are going to think you have way too much time on your hands!"

But I did it anyway cause I'm feeling refreshed which makes me a tad "motivated".

To top off my already "happy mood" two things happened to make me giddy....

Darling hubby came home last night. He worked late, so we ate without him. I had made Spicy Chili for dinner and he opened the pantry doors and asked if we had "Oyster crackers?"

I was standing at the sink with a "gigantic grin" on my face and said," Yes, honey they are in the Pasta/cracker basket!!!! Oh my gosh that felt so good!!! I just may label the whole house!
hee hee
The second occurrence was making lunches. I was running a bit behind and my 5 year old was already done eating breakfast and she was twirling endlessly around me... I hadn't had my coffee yet.... need I say more, anyhow I said, hey Dash 3 go pick out a snack for all three lunch boxes. She is a great reader now. She picked 3 snacks and then stood there reading all the labels. Oh pure bliss, I didn't have to ask her to quit twirling. Instead, she became engrossed reading labels. I know this new distraction will not last forever, but I shall enjoy it while it lasts!

I did have to run to Target this morning for two wire baskets
they were $9.99 a piece so I only spent $19.98 on my pantry project!

What should I tackle next? Perfect time for a coffee break. Happy Wednesday,
